Please remember Day Programs are closed on 11/27 and 11/28 for the Thanskgiving holdiay. All programs resume their normal schedule on 12/1. Have a safe and fun holiday!
All employees who work with our individuals are required to stay up-to-date on CPR/First Aide and BPS. Failure to stay in compliance will result in suspension until trainings/refreshers are completed. If you are unsure about your status, contact Tiffiney Cross at the Administrative Office, extention 130 or at tcross@athelasinst.org. DDA regulations may differ for ISS/CSLA staff. Contact your supervisor for information. November and December CPR/First Aide Schedule Mandatory CPR and First Aide for November and December. Please ensure that your staff are aware of dates and times. Location for all classes is at EU ( 9020 Red Branch Road ) All classes start sharply at 9am. CPR is done the first part of the day then First Aide Follows for those who need both.
November and December BPS Schedule
BPS is a Mandatory class required by DDA in-order to work with person with disabilities. Athelas supports this and recommends all staff be refreshed yearly that have contact with the consumers.

Inclement Weather Copies of the Athelas Inclement Weather Policy were distributed via Carematic and should also be posted at each center. Please be sure you read and understand this important document. A downloadable copy is available here and the list of radio stations that will broadcast closings and delays can be downloaded here. In addition to listening for a radio broadcast, you can call the Administrative office after 6:30 a.m. for a recorded message or check the Caregivers section of the Athelas web site.

Job summary Provides direct care, interaction with and supervision of the residents, inclusive of all daily needs, (e.g. meals, grooming, personal needs, transportation, recreation and leisure, medical, medication, etc…)
Attends, participates in and implements all required and requested trainings. Conducts self in a professional manner at all times when interacting with residents, neighbors, parents, advocates, consultants and professionals, and regulatory agency personnel.
Additional Requirements Excellent people skills, Professionalism is a must, experience in the field, Drivers license, computer typing skills and able to multi task.
